Launching the 'Ultimate Health' Programme

I am excited to announce that in a collaboration between my Smarter-Weigh programme and eKuiLibrium personal training we are launching the Ultimate Health Programme. By focusing of specialist skills and strategies for mind and body this Ultimate Health programme is a unique course for anyone wanting to achieve their health goals in 2012.

A complementary taster session is being held on 22nd February at the eKuiLibriuM studio at 1.30pm.

Losing momentum on your weightloss journey?

It's nearly the end of January. How is your motivation to achieve your weightloss goal now? Chances are it is increasingly challenging. Here are a few tips to renew your motivation to keep going.

  • Make changes at a realsitic pace. Did you go mad at the beginning of January and are now finding it hard to keep it going? Making too many changes all at once may be difficult for you to sustain for any length of time. It is much more effective to concentrate on a few small changes to begin with, focus on ensuring they become a new habit and then build on them further.

  • Statistics show that weightloss goals have a higher success rate when you have support along the way. Find a coach or group of like-minded people who are also working on a weightloss goal and share the journey together

  • Keep a little book with you and write down absolutely everything you eat and drink each day - and I mean EVERYTHING. Your memory can be quite selective when you recall what you have eaten and whether you have stuck to commitments to eat more healthily.

  • Forget your end weight loss goal and focus instead on one small thing you can do on a daily basis. Break the goal into weekly steps, for example even 1lb a week, which seems much more achievable and will increase your motivation.

  • Make exercise fun. Yes, exercise and fun can be said in the same sentence. The key to ensuring that you stick to an exercise plan is to choose activities that you enjoy. What activities could you do that would inspire you to get going? Dancing, cycling, sailing, jogging, swimming, walking, belly-dancing, tai chi, ice-skating......or all of them?

  • It is very important to reward your efforts every step of the way with treats (other than food). Please don't underestimate the achievements you are making as you change your eating habits. You really are doing great!
